positions in the Department of Library and Information Science:
Job Title: Professor (Library and Information Science)
Requirements:
The candidate who must already be a
Professor, must have twenty (20) publications, of which sixteen (16) in print
out of which four (4) must be in at least three (3) different and regularly
published foreign index journals, plus evidence of supervision to completion of
three (3) Masters and one (1) PhD degrees.
Job Title: Reader / Associate
Professor (Library and Information Science)
Requirements:
The
candidate who should apply must already be a Reader and possesses a PhD in
relevant field or its equivalent with evidence of outstanding and continuing
achievement/teaching experience in a University. The candidate must also
possess Fifteen (15) publications in reputable international and national
journals and record of supervision of PhD and Masters Students.
Job Title: Senior Lecturer (Library
and Information Science)
Requirements:
The
candidate must have a PhD Degree in the relevant field or its equivalent from a
recognized institution plus six (6) years post qualification teaching and
research experience. The candidate must also have a minimum of ten (10) publications
in reputable journals with evidence of continuous research and ability to
supervise postgraduate students.
Job Title: Lecturer I (Library and
Information Science)
Requirements:
The
candidate must have a PhD Degree in the relevant field or its equivalent from a
recognized institution plus three (3) years teaching experience and four (4)
journal publications, two (2) of which must have been published OR a PhD with
professional registration plus three (3) published journal articles OR a
Masters Degree plus six (6) years teaching experience plus five (5) journal
articles, four (4) of which must have been published.
Job Title: Lecturer II (Library and
Information Science)
Requirements:
Candidate should possess a PhD
Degree in the relevant field or its equivalent from a recognized institution or
a Master's Degree plus two (2) journal publication and at least three (3) years
post qualification teaching and research experience at the University level.
Job Title: Assistant Lecturer
(Library and Information Science)
Requirements:
The
candidate must have a good second class honours Degree in Library and
Information Science or its equivalent from a recognized institution or a
Master's Degree or first class or second class upper Bachelor's Degree in the
case of a 5-year Degree programme (e.g. B.Agric., B. Eng.).
Conditions of Service
The
conditions of service are as obtainable in Nigerian Universities and as
approved by Federal University of Lafia Governing Council.
